Today, more and more Americans are getting divorces. As a matter of fact, the numbers show that around 50% of marriages end up in divorce. If these statistics are true, they are very discouraging about marriage, and several studies are being conducted in order to determine why divorce is so prominent.

There are several theories as to why this is happening, and one of the theories that fits the most is that American women are much more career oriented today than say, 50 or 60 years ago. A career is a wonderful thing for a woman to have; however, with the career, a woman can no longer focus 100% of her attention to her marriage and children.
